Find your local stop smoking service
Stop smoking services are available in your local area to provide guidance, support and advice to help you quit smoking — free of charge.
Stop smoking advisors are experts who work with you to help you quit smoking in a way that matches your lifestyle and smoking journey. They can also offer advice on effective Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) such as vapes, patches, gum or prescribed medication.
Working with a stop smoking advisor, along with using stop-smoking aids like NRT, can significantly boost your chance of quitting successfully.
You don’t need a referral to access stop smoking services. It is easy to register for help via a website, email, text or phone call. You will be given an advisor who will see you in person, in various community settings, pharmacies, GPs or local hospitals — or, if you prefer, support can happen online or via telephone calls and text messages. Some areas have their own stop smoking app. Choose the support that best suits your lifestyle and availability.

Yes. Local stop smoking services are free of charge, including expert support from a trained advisor and, in most areas, free stop smoking aids such as nicotine replacement therapy.
NRT gives your body nicotine without the smoke — patches, gum, lozenges, inhalators or a nicotine vape. Combining NRT with support from an advisor significantly boosts your chance of quitting successfully. Some areas can also offer prescribed medication.
Many local services can offer a nicotine vape, and some provide a free vape starter kit as part of a supported quit attempt — usually for adults and subject to availability. Check your area’s page for what is on offer near you.
Most services support anyone aged 12 and over, while some are for adults aged 18+ (with separate support for young people). Each area page lists who is eligible.
